Now, you might be wondering, “Jennifer, why would you schedule an immersion coaching experience during the busiest time of year for many folks?”

Great question!

I have strategically planned this package to be available during the fall and holiday season for the precise reason that this is one of the most boundary-challenging times of year for so many people. Between juggling work parties, school programs, gatherings with relatives, on top of the regular events and tasks of life I know many people who find themselves agreeing to things they didn’t want to and feeling stuck, and maybe even resentful of their “yes.”

Expansive Boundaries Immersion is here to help change that narrative.

Tell me if this sounds familiar…

You are capable, talented, and creative.

You are highly sought after to organize, chair, direct, and host all kinds of programs and events. It feels validating and affirming to be chosen for such positions.

You have amazing gifts you bring to the table!

Unfortunately, before we know it, the Pressure to be the Perfect Pinterest Person sneaks in and steals all our joy.

All too often, our “yes”s can be turned by others into blank checks that get stretched well beyond the intended–and budgeted–commitment.

These experiences can leave us feeling a scarcity of time, energy, and joy.

As an Intersectional Mindset Coach, I help clients identify the people, places, and things that are draining their resources, learn techniques to create brave boundaries, and practice scripts as they implement their new practices of boundary-making.

Pressure to be…

You’ve been here before. The pressure to perform the Perfect Pinterest Host-Parent-Organizer. Social media tells us that we can do it all–bake the goodies from scratch, make the decoration as crafts with the kids, throw the party of the season, and look good doing all of it!

The Perfect Pinterest Person

School wants you to bake your famous spice loaf. Your faith community is having a potluck. Relatives have invited you to five different gatherings. Friends are having a cookie swap. Neighbors are hosting a decorating contest and block party. The kids are in three different seasonal concerts. And Auntie just asked to stay with you for the holiday.

I’m exhausted just reading that.

You?

These social pressures create impossible standards and expectations that *none of us* can fulfill. Systems like capitalism make us think that if we have not hand-crafted all the gifts for every teacher, every relative, and every neighbor then we have failed, we’re lazy, we must not care. Systems like patriarchy tell us lies that it is up to moms and women and femme people to carry the weight of all of this hustle and bustle and making and planning.

You are not broken, these systems are. I have never met a single live human who Does All The Things and also experiences peace, rest, and joy.

The Pressure to be the Perfect Pinterest Person is not attainable. For anyone. It’s a mythical creature not of this world. (And anyone who tells you otherwise has a lot of hired assistants).

I relate to this Big Time!

I am going to help you to know this truth, to live it, to embody it, and how to soothe yourself when you body tells you differently.

Why am I so confident this will work? Because I’ve done I’m doing this work myself, every day. Oh yes! I am a big time recovering people-pleaser. I ran myself ragged for years doing All The Things for all the people until I was a burnt-out, hollow, shell of my former self. The thought of saying “no” and disappointing someone just made my stomach churn and all of my insides twist.

Do you know that feeling?

Have you had it too?

For years that sensation governed all my “yes”s. It dictated my time and my energy allocations. I felt powerless.

In 2010 I started a weekly writing circle that I ran consistently for 7 years. Free of charge, my gift to the community. I loved it. I wrote so much and made deep and lasting connections with so many other writers. And. I burned out. Several times over the years I invited others to co-lead and no one was able to make a commitment. I was overwhelmed. In the summer of 2017, I made the heart-breaking decision to close the circle and retire from that season of leading. I was sick with worry about what it would cost others, how disappointed they would be, how deeply I would let down my community.

Even with all of those thoughts, I just could not muster the energy any more.

When it came time for the last circle gathering, I felt nauseous. I was sweaty and jittery in my body. My panic response was kicking in. I was on the verge of taking it all back and telling everyone “Never mind, I’ll keep going.” Some tiny whisper in me said, “Please don’t. Let us rest.”

And I listened.

It was a beautiful and bittersweet last circle yet what I remember most keenly, is the profound relief I felt as I got in my car at the end of that gathering and drove home. I was almost giddy with lightness and freedom intoxicated by the reality that I was done. I would have every Monday evening back in my time bank. I never heaved such a sigh of release and relief. That right there, is the new body memory I refer back to when I am met with an opportunity to lead, to serve, to organize, to run, to chair, to direct, some event or program. I was able to listen in that moment because of alllllll the work on my beliefs about myself, my agency, and my boundaries I had been and continue to do with therapists, coaches, and mentors.

I am a work in progress and in continual practice of these principles.

Even still, when I am faced with an uncomfortable boundary decision, that somatic sensation of freedom and peace reminds me what is possible! This has fueled and emboldened my boundary making ever since and I absolutely want you to have a chance to create that positive association, to build a strong foundation for your continuing boundary practices!

Who am I?

Hi! I’m Jennifer (she/they) an Intersectional Mindset Coach here to help you reclaim your time, your energy, and your Yes! by learning how to make and affirm strategic boundaries.

For the past 15 years I have worked as a complex trauma therapist. During that time, I sat with hundreds of people who have been abused by the false narrative that others are entitled to their time, talents, and energy.

I too have experienced that same harm and continue to work the practices that move me out of “time & energy debt” to a place of abundance. I practice protecting the sacred power of my Yes! and I am here to help you do the same.

As a trained-therapist-turned-coach I have a heap of resources, experience, and collected knowledge to equip you with the tools and practices to reclaim your time, your energy, and your Yes!

In this Expansive Boundaries Immersion experience, I explore with clients the false narratives created by society and by the systems that govern us. When we are able to put a name to these forces outside of us, we can shift our mindset behind our boundary-making practices. Once we shift our mindset, our center of gravity is shifted to a place that gives us much stronger grounding from which we make and affirm our boundaries.

I help clients trace their boundary-compromising triggers to the systems, societal pressures, and unrealistic expectations *imposed on them from external sources.* You are not broken, the systems in which we live are.

These practices go far beyond a seemingly simple notion of, “just say ‘no’ more often,” because healthy boundaries are not always a “yes” or a “no.”

As I coach my clients through Expansive Boundaries Immersion, I help them create scripts and a collection of answers to different scenarios that they can use in real-time boundary making moments.

I help them notice the somatic sensations that signal “we are in danger of disappointing!” and together we practice methods of self-soothing.

What does it mean to reclaim your Yes?

When we have difficulty affirming our boundaries, or are bullied into making compromises, our “yes” gets lost and so does its power. It becomes weighed down with sense of obligation, maybe resentment, and overall exhaustion.

On the other hand, when we are fortified to make our boundaries and affirm them with others, we reclaim the power, the enthusiasm, the joy of our Yes!

Expansive Boundaries Immersion program is here to offer you the opportunity to experience all of this in an immersive experience from October 6th – January 11, 2023.

My Expansive Boundaries Immersion clients get me for three months–basically your very own Mindset Coach on Retainer--to coach you through real-time scenarios, to workshop boundary snags, and to celebrate every time you show up for yourself!

A 90-day journey with a cohort of 10 – 12 people that runs from October through January.

I offer this program only once a year, specifically because this season is when people could use the most support with their boundary making and affirming practices.

In our cohort workshops we will learn the Six Practices of Self Liberation of my Expansive Mindset Coaching methodology:

    • Deconstruct False Narratives
    • Give Permission
    • Embrace Abundance
    • Build Circles of Care
    • Integrate Justice
    • Trust Yourself

I promise that I will share all of my tools for boundary-making best practices, and will walk with you through difficult scenarios supporting you along the way. I can’t promise you specific outcomes, because each client in each cohort is unique.

These kinds of learning and growth opportunities work as hard as you work them.  When you put in the work to practice new ways of thinking and being, the investment you put in is amplified in your returns!

What kind of investment of time and money is this experience?

On a weekly basis, clients generally invest 3-5 hours — some weeks investing more some weeks investing less. Each of the 6 Live Cohort Workshops are 2 hours and each client gets one live 50 minute 1-on-1 work session a month with Jennifer. Outside of that there are journaling or creative process prompts, connection with the cohort through the exclusive online community, and their own practice of what each client is learning about themselves and their boundaries.

Financially, the investment can be made either as a single payment up front*, or broken into monthly payments.

To pay in full is: $4,750.00

To pay monthly in 4 installments: $1187.00/month

If other payment plan arrangements are needed, please talk with me! In most cases, the answer is yes! I am committed to working with folks to make this work.

*As a queer, AuDHD, femme, I embody an undercapitalized identity.  This means that I am self-financing my business out of cash flow.  When clients are able to pay full fees up front it is a tremendous help which I appreciate deeply.  And also, I understand (and am there plenty of times myself) when it is just not possible to make a lump sum payment, so I offer monthly investment plan options.

I do not charge extra for payment plans as I find that structure inequitable and exploitative.

This cohort is open to 12 people only. Early Bird Registration closes September 20, 2022.
Premium registration closes October 1, 2022

When you embody the truth of your value, you will make and communicate your boundaries unapologetically reclaiming your time, your energy, and the power of your Yes!

You deserve to hold agency over your own life and schedule.

You deserve to enjoy time with those you love and on your own.

You deserve to be present in this season, in these moments of wonder.

You deserve to rest.**
